On a Sunday Afternoon

Kicking back on a Sunday afternoon
Husband and kids just jammin to oldie tunes
Sippin a drink, chillen, reminiscing

wishing all the days were like this
the simple things in life, it's always been
Tears roll down my cheek
If my broken heart could speak
without letting all that trauma leak
like a river that overflows, childhood woes
I prayed for days just like this
for moments that feel like sunshine on a crisp and cold day
moments that transform the pain away
the niña inside me never lived
and never loved like this
she blew out many birthday candles for this wish
Love is chillen with the loves of your life
bumping your firme oldies, that's what Sundays are for
Accepting and knowing I deserve this love and more
Ms Mason playing in the background
"Pain tears, sorrow, baby
sad today and happy tomorrow, baby, baby
little kiss and some happiness
little bliss, some sadness baby
it's all in the game of love baby "
